Dr. Rayna C. Bell

B.A. Integrative Biology, University of California, Berkeley

Ph.D. Ecology + Evolutionary Biology, Cornell University 

Chancellor's Postdoctoral Fellow, Museum of Vertebrate Zoology, University of California, Berkeley

I joined the National Museum of Natural History in 2015 as Curator of Amphibians + Reptiles in the Department of Vertebrate Zoology. In 2019 I moved to the California Academy of Sciences as Curator of Herpetology in the Institute for Biodiversity Science and Sustainability. I am broadly interested in the ecology and evolution of amphibians and reptiles with an emphasis on island biogeography, hybrid zones, and coloration phenotypes.
